My New Rock

Do you pick up cool twigs, stones or shells when walking? I find a lot of meaning from them. The other day I picked up this rock, looks like a work boot when flipped 90 clockwise. I do have a lot of heavy lifting to do for my family now. Looks like a heart alos, with a missing part, symbolic of the loss of my sister. Finally, I also see it in this orientation, with a period of gradual growth, leading to greatness, instead of crashing. I am an optimist. I love my life

I must admit, this happened to me as well.

Turns out, I cannot eat as much ice cream, soy ice cream, coconut ice cream, and cold beverages as I want, and do just fine.

Started out with a little earache, then a little crinkle, then BOOM–I lost half my hearing in my right ear, and it feels like there is a wetness in there. Some pressure, and ringing, pain only when I push on it. But almost impossible to have a conversation!

What to do? Plenty of things, but most importantly, don’t rush to the doctor. Try it at home for a week:

1. Eliminate all cold foods, they weaken the kidneys (related to the ears). This includes ice cream, iced beverages, and super cold foods. If you want to cool down, jump into water, or use compresses, or AC instead.

2. Eliminate fruit juice, soda, alcohol, sugary snacks, and non-organic raw foods such as lettuce, strawberries, tomatos, peppers, bananas and mangos. Also reduce hard foods such as crackers, barbecued foods and hard-boiled or fried or baked eggs.

3. Boil some brown rice one day, and buckwheat the next. Eat for 1-2 meals, and eat Soba noodles as well. Avoid semolina (regular pasta) and other white flours. Also eat plenty of beans, especially azuki, garbanzo, black soy, and mung. Miso soup and sea vegetables and shiitakes are also good.

4. Use grapefruit oil drops, or sesame oil, or a natural ear wax softener, and an ear syringe to remove wax buildup. Give this a few days, and be gentle.

5. Get plenty of sleep, and sing fun songs every day. Do not listen to heavy rock or other loud music, and avoid loud noises.

Other ideas such as ginger compresses and kidney drink are very beneficial. Call me at 508-333-4153 for assistance.

Good luck!!

Truths about…

Truths about Oily Foods, Protein, Calcium, Diets…

Oily Foods:
We all need oil, but it needs to be fresh, vegetable quality oil, without pesticides, well cooked, and in moderate amounts. Best oils are sesame, sunflower, safflower and olive. Frying animal foods such as beef, chicken, pork, and cheese in more oil makes no sense, particularly in the summer months. Fried, and even deep-fried vegetables can be very satisfying, nourishing, and mood-enhancing. Eating a pickle or a green apple afterwards activates digestion nicely.

Protein:
In the U.S., virtually nobody has a protein deficiency. In fact, about 90% of get too much protein, which explains our growing problems of obesity, violence, heart disease and cancer. Proteins are powerful, but extreme power leads to problems. There is plenty of protein in grains and beans, and some protein in vegetables. This is where we ought to focus our attention.

Calcium:
Did you know that chick peas and kale have more calcium than milk? The calcium in milk is not well-absorbed by the body, due to its high fat, bacteria and protein levels. But calcium is generally a problem not from a lack of nourishment, but rather because of depletion from our bones, which comes as a result of the blood needing to buffer our acid diet. This is caused by eating too many animal foods, and acidic foods such as nightshade vegetables, chocolate, soda and coffee.

Diets:
Diets generally don’t work, because they are unsustainable. It’s better to give your body a healthy diet and slowly become the person you want to be, while enjoying what you eat. If you want to lose weight, simply eat lower fat foods, less of them, and chew more, along with increasing your exercise. Diet foods and drugs generally do more harm than good, and waste your money.

A New Attitude

I have had my share of suffering, disappointment and failure. But I’m better for it. Sometimes we must lose things before we can appreciate what we have. With the love and support from my family, friends, and the universe, I am able to serve others. I love my life. You?

Macrobiotics is the study of yin and yang, or the order of the universe. Really, it should be taught in high school. It’s a way of understanding how to achieve balance in life. Can it cure disease? Absolutely, if applied with consciousness and care. http://www.macropedia.us

Saw the last installment at Mendon Drive-in with the family last night. Quite thrilling, well done. When I think of Voldemort I think of Big Pharma, how ’bout you?

Your body is telling you to live more naturally. A rash, chronic pain, weakness, numbness, allergies, frequent colds and difficulty focusing, sleeping or relaxing are symptoms. You CAN heal naturally. 1) Commitment 2) Discipline 3) Support http://itunes.com/apps/kaganmedianet

Technology amazes me. With all the books and materials I could NEVER build a car, computer or radio. Nature has some amazing secrets too. Network Chiropractic relieves tightness in my neck, shoulder, back and legs, and helps my emotions. Meridians, or magic? http://www.jenniferlees.com

I was speaking with a good friend of mine today who leaves near the family whose teenage son recently murdered his ex-girlfriend, in a lovely and upper class Metrowest suburb.

A very sad story, an avoidable tragedy, with many victims, aside from the lovely and talented woman who lost her life simply because she was wonderful.

She asked me for my thoughts on why it happened, and I said, “It’s very sad, but we don’t support our kids when they are going through problems. People, even young people, and especially boys, are told to ‘get over it,’ ‘be a man,’ ‘find someone new,’ instead of being reached out to, and given an opportunity to be listened to and counseled.

I said I think it will keep happening, until we make a commitment to help people who are having problems. I don’t think we should wait for or expect the government to help us, we need to do it ourselves.

I‘m currrently involved with a men’s team, and a program called Boys to Men, if you know any man or young man 13-18 who could use some support.

What are you committed to?
